Windows 10: USB to Serial Com port is showing in Device manager, but not in any 3. part software.

Hi

I have a USB to Serial Com port adapter, and it is showing in Device manager it looks fine COM6.

But when I open any software I use this Com-port, I have no com-port.


I've tried in ex. Putty and Serial Port Monitor.

If you want to change the port settings, please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Open Device manager (right click on start button
   and then on Device manager).
   
2. Then expand port (COMS & LPT).
   
3. Then right click on Prolific USB-to Serial Comm Port and then on properties.
   
4. Go to port settings and click on Advanced.
   
5. You will be able to make the changes on this screen.

Serial port connections are not detected, and COM port option is not showing in Device Manager.

Com port as in Serial port or parallel port

Plug n play or legacy ports?

There should already be drivers loaded in device manager

Use the add hardware wizard and install the port from the list and restart PC.
