Windows 10: USB webcam not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match

Hello-

I was using a webcam USB HD plug-and-play, with no specific driver on Wednesday 1/15/2020, when in the space of 10 minutes, the webcam stopped working. When I open the Device Manager, the system recognizes the webcam, and says that it is working properly. The only evidence of an error is when I click on the "Events" tab, and it shows that the device was not migrated:

I have tried various combinations of disabling the device, uninstalling, rebooting the computer, reinstalling, and trying to update drivers. There is no driver update needed, nor is there a computer-specific driver update on the website. The laptop is an Acer Aspire E5-576G with an Intel Core i5-8250U CPU @ 1.6 GHz 64 bit. I am running Windows 10 Pro version 1903.

Please help! I got this laptop exclusively to run experiments recorded with this webcam, and it is less than 1 year old. If the webcam doesn't work, I literally can't use the laptop anymore.

What is meant by "migrated"?

What would cause an "ambiguous match"?

Is this anything to worry about?
