    USB Wi-Fi adapter crashes because of bad drivers support.


    I have a Wi-Fi adapter with MT7601 chipset. The adapter crashes whenever there's no internet connection. I have installed latest drivers from both Microsoft and MediaTek, though they were last updated in 2015. This problem occurs in both Windows 10 and Windows 11. However, When I use it on Linux it works fine without crashing.To reproduce this crash1. Connect to Wi-Fi2. Disable data from router/phone then it will show no internet connection3. The adapter will then crash and disconnect from pc

    Is it on Windows 8's compatibility list (check MS website- forgot link)?

    I had an issue with one Wi-fi adapter and it wasn't listed as compatible- All was well when I swapped it out with one on the compatibility list

    I have tried reinstalling windows, no help at all and it didn't do this on windows 7.

    I'm not sure if its on the compatibility list or not, i will have to check.

    I'm not sure what that is, I will look in to it though. As for the AMD USB filter driver. I assume anything is possible.

    no, the driver it's for windows 8 but it works, the only problem is can't connect/switch from tray list
