You will be fine with that. You may end up having to get a USB extension cable to allow you to place the dongle on the lid of your laptop if you start having issues. That adapter will work for you for a very long time. As long as it does not go bad.

 

They will be fine with that adapter. Windows 10 has a driver in their database that will work. It is a newer adapter and the fact that Linksys like all companies have the drivers needed in the Microsoft database and also a part of the drivers installed on the machine in the driver folder. No need for them to go install some random driver, just because the Microsoft not a tech help site states differently.

 

LINKSYS - WUSB6100M-EU USB Wireless Adapter was recognised when plugged in but didn't load any driver. Had to direct it to the disk supplied with the adapter and it works fine using the Qualcomm Atheros driver supplied by Linksys.

All working fine and getting 433Mb's

Just set Windows in System in Control Panel to not automatically install drivers when Windows Update runs.

 

If you want usb wifi adapter for desktop then I would recommend Edimax EW-7811Un 150Mbps 11n Wireless Adapter for Desktop instead of LINKSYS - WUSB6100M-EU. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, Raspberry Pi, and other Linux Operating Systems.

 

I know this thread is a bit old, but I wanted to add something helpful for whoever might be still looking. I have a Belkin F5D8053 v4, and had the same problems listed above with Windows 10. I was able to solve it, by going to the Belkin site, and downloading the last driver for the adapter. The site lists compatibility up to windows 7. When I went to install, I right-clicked on the .exe, and chose compatibility settings, then chose compatibility with Win 8. I installed it, no errors, it asked to plug in the adapter, then had me restart the PC. After the restart, I plugged in the adapter, and, worked normally! I connected to my WiFi network no problem, in fact I'm using it to write this post!
