USB Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Issue

I’m experiencing an issue with my Lenovo laptop where my USB wireless keyboard and mouse only work when plugged into one specific USB port. This problem is unique to the wireless keyboard and mouse; other USB devices, like storage drives work fine on all ports. the keyboard and mouse worked on all USB ports before this issue began. When I unplug the USB receiver for both from the working port, both the keyboard and mouse entries disappear from Device Manager. Plugging it back in results in both entries reappearing, but only one device works at a time depending on which receiver is plugged in,

  2. Wireless keyboard and mouse not recognized

We appreciate your response Sally. This will help us isolate the issue.

In the meantime, we recommend that you run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter on your PC. Kindly click
Start > Settings > Update & Security > Hardware and Devices > Run the troubleshooter. The troubleshooter will check if there is a problem and try to resolve it.

To verify that your wireless mouse and keyboard are still working, please try to connect it to a different computer/laptop. Wireless mouse and keyboard are usually battery operated, please check if you are using fresh batteries. On the other hand, connecting
a wired mouse and keyboard on your laptop will help us determine if issue is with the USB port. It is recommended to try using different USB ports.

There is a chance also that issue might be with compatibility or outdated drivers. Please provide the make and model of your wireless mouse and keyboard. To update the driver, please follow these steps:

    • Right click on Start.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • In the list of hardware categories, find the device that you want to update (on this case Mice and Keyboard), and then double-click the device name.
    • Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver.

Let us know how it goes.

  4. USB Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Issue

    Wireless USB Mouse Not Working

    Hello,

We appreciate that you have isolated the issue for us. Since it is not happening to other wireless USB mouse connected to the same PC and to a different PC using the same wireless USB mouse, we can verify that there is no issue with the device connection.
Also, an outdated device has already been eliminated to the possible cause of this issue. As an initial recommendation, we would suggest that you reset the mouse itself. Here's how:

    • Check the bottom of the mouse and look for a small button.
    • Press the button and start moving the mouse until the cursor on the display starts to follow your mouse movements.

Let us know the results. We'll be glad to further assist you.
