Windows 10: Use a webcan as a security camera

Hello everybody,I would like to know if it is possible to use my webcam as a security camera. I have found many tutorials on the web, but all of them ask to download different softwares. I don't know any of these softwares and don't feel confortable to give access to my my webcam to one of them. I awould be more confortable with a software secured by Microsoft or another trusted company that you may know.Could you please help ???Thanks a lot

settings to see if the camera access is turned on. Kindly follow the steps below to check the camera privacy settings:

• Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
• Near the top of the Settings app window is the search box, kindly type the word "webcam" or "camera".
• From the list of results choose Camera privacy settings.
• Make sure that "Let apps use my camera" toggle is set to On.

  Are you able to use Camera app?

  Have you installed all the pending updates?
  
• 
  Have you installed any third party application recently?
  

Step 1: I would suggest you to open Camera app and check if you are able to access the webcam or not.

• 
  Type camera app in search bar and you will be able to open camera app.
  

Step 2: I suggest you to install the latest available web-cam software from the manufacture web site and check if it helps.

Step 3: I suggest you to check for the latest updates.

• 
  Press Windows logo key +R, enter
  MS-settings: and then press OK. This opens Settings.
  
• 
  In Settings, go to Update & security >
  Windows Update, and then select Check for updates. Install any available updates and restart your PC if required.
