Use of Zone Alarm Firewall causing initial issue.

Whenever I boot up to Win 10 the Windows security shield icon is red for a couple of minutes or so before turning green. I discovered the cause was down to my use of ZoneAlarm as my firewall instead of the Windows one. Looking at my Zone Alarm config, it states I'm protected during this period.

What I'd like to know is it safe to go straight to the internet while the security shield suggests is red before it changes to green?

    :)

Unable to uninstall Zone Alarm ?

Right click the Taskbar and start the Task Manager. Take the drop down arrow and choose More Details. Under the Processes tab look for Zone Alarm and highlight it and End the Process.
Now use the Zone Alarm Uninstall tool ZoneAlarm Uninstall Tool Download
We don't suggest Reinstalling Zone Alarm, you really don't need it. We find it creates false positives and blocks web traffic that is not harmful. You really only need the Windows Firewall and Windows Defender.

Anybody have experience with Zone Alarm?

As an FYI, should you experience any issues with Windows 10, applications or your internet connection be sure to use the tray icon's options to "snooze firewall" and "snooze antivirus" and retest. 90% of the time my issues were caused by Zone Alarm conflicts. But I always forgot to do this easy check first and ended up spending a lot of time troubleshooting, uninstalling/reinstalling, etc.

I was a longtime (5 year) user of Zone Alarm and only recently changed to Bitdefender.

Use of Zone Alarm Firewall causing initial issue.

    Zone Alarm Pro

Is there an entry in Programs and Features for ZA Extreme? If not perhaps run the ZoneAlarm Removal Tool.

By the way the latest ZA Free firewall states it's compatible with the Anniversary update.
