  1. Use old win 10 drive to boot new pc

Hello, so my old PC died and I'm getting my new one tomorrow. I had no chance to save data from my old PC and I don't have another drive right now. So I would like to know if it's possible to boot the new pc from my old win. 10 drive just so save some data and then I would use the win 10 option to reinstall windows.

Transfer old win 10 boot drive to new licensed win 10 computer

I've read the many similar threads here. Still unsure whether the following can be done:

Purchase new win 10 licensed computer
Run OOBE so the new computer is activated in ms win 10 database
Take old boot drive with win 10 and programs/data from another computer
Put old drive in new computer as boot drive (or do I need to boot from USB?)
Run update installation for anniversary edition win 10 retaining previous data and settings
Will I then have the old hard drive in the new computer validated for the new computer?
Can I then put a new hard drive in old computer and install win 10 there for that computer.

Not violating any licensing agreements but easier to transfer all the old stuff to new pc that way
    thanks

Win10 clean install on new drive, dual boot w/win7 on old drive. New Win10 drive won't boot

As per subject line above, I did clean install of Win 10 on new drive. Left Win7 on old drive. All went fine; PC boots as long as old drive is present. Boot option screen appears at boot offering choice of Win10 or 7. Works fine. BUT, when I removed old
drive with Win7, system won't boot from new drive (CUse old win 10 drive to boot new pc :). Apparently Win10 installed boot selection and/or something critical on the OLD drive. The new drive shows the Win10 logo in File Explorer (when old drive is present), and all Win10 files appear to have
installed correctly on the new disk. But it won't boot by itself - so something is missing. (Yes, I changed the boot sequence order in the bios to look for the new drive.) But bios prompts for a bootable disk, meaning the new C: drive is "not bootable". What
    gives?

    Thanks for any help!!!

Use old win 10 drive to boot new pc

new ssd, installed win 10, first in boot order but still boots from old hard drive.

I have a pc with a standard hard drive running windows 10 just fine. I got a new SSD. I unplugged all the hard drives, installed the SSD and installed windows 10 on it. I would boot just fine. I then plugged the old hard drive back in thinking I
could switch between these boot drives using the bios boot order. I was able to switch back to booting from the hard drive but now when I change the boot order to the ssd first it always skips over it and boots the from the second option which is the old
hard drive. I thought hard drive data was just data and the bios could choose which drive to boot from but it doesn't. I can see that the old hard drive is listed as active in disk management. It seems like windows will mark only one hard drive as active
and the bios must boot from that no matter what the boot order is. Is that how it works? Is there a way to switch between booting from either drive without opening up the pc and unplugging the other drive each time?
