Windows 10: Use old Windows Apps Folder on new Windows Installation

Hi,


I recently bought a ne nvme and tried to Install my old Windows Installation on the ne drive, but it had some Issues one of them beeing that it wouldnt boot on it own without another hard drive and it was set to Legacy boot. I tried to convert it to UEFI but it just didnt work. So i decided to leave the old installation behind. I have a secondary 4TB drive on which I stored all my games from Xbox Game Pass. Now the Question is: Is there a way with which I can use the Windows Apps Folder from the old Installation on the new Installation or a way to carry just the files and settings but not the old Windows with me to the new Installation?

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
