Windows 10: Use System Image restore

I had done a fresh install around middle of May. Kept MS out of it during install. Result was Administrator Account which I later hid, Me as Administrator local, Tester local, and Me with MS account. Setup backups and SR and C as system, D as programs, and E as data.

A few days back I installed a program that did not seem what I'd like. Ran SR to prior point. All seemed well but a few days later I booted into my Administrator account and there was the SR fail message. So I try running again. No joy getting typical cannot extract file. Note, OneDrive was never run!

Tried running SIR and similar messages of unable to extract. System then went totally down and unable to boot into windows. Multiple attempts to run SIR and started getting messages that it could not restore UEFI to BIOS system. ???

I seemed to be totally out of options and could not even get install to work at which point I ran clean command on C. It then started install and to my surprise it showed the partitions exactly as they should be on C and finished installing.


I want to run that backup/SIR to get my system in its prior state. One issue has been repetitive errors of not having control over Windows Apps folder on D:

• Are you trying to restore the system image or create a system image?
  
• Are you able to see the external drive in File Explorer?
  
• Could you please briefly explain the procedure that you are following to initiate a system image restore?

How to delete inactive System Image Restore Points in System Restore

Windows 10 64-bit.
When I click "show more restore points" in System Restore I see a bunch of old "system image restore points" that were deleted in past and do not correspond to any currently active restore points. Clicking any of these old restore points, I simply get an error message saying they could not be found, and to select another restore point instead.I would like to delete these restore points listings but have been unable to do so.
So far, I have tried steps mentioned below without any luck :

Disk Cleanup through (C Properties
Disable System Protection (OFF and ON) in System Protection for OS (C
Disk Space Usage to minimum (slider button all the way to the left then 'Delete all restore points for this drive'),
Delete all shown Restore points in CCleaner (the problem ones do not show here),
Reset Windows Backup to Default in Windows 10 with 'Reset_Windows_Backup.bat' utility.

Any suggestions highly welcome.

Could you elaborate on the Nick's Data? I've already done a Sys Img to G: drive.
What is a Belarc Advisor audit?


Rebooting now to see if drives stay the same.
