Windows 10: User account causing laptop fan to spin

Hi,We have a user account at home that has been used for years probably since '06.Every laptop and every iteration of Windows that the account has been used on causes the fan to spin even when no apps are running. We though it could be the laptop or that windows needed an update or onedrive or driver issues or dust. However over the years we've used the account on about 4 laptops running various versions of Windows and the same issue occurs and it occurs every session not just once a week or even once a day.If another user account logs onto the same laptop the behaviour stops, so could this be

are you people ignoring what i said??

i've done this before. windows 7 has nothing to do with it. the fan on a laptop is driven by the bios. And when the chip gets hot the fan spins.

i can be 99% its dirty and clogged and is not letting it spin.

blow it out. if that doesn't work, take it apart and check the fan.

the fan may be broken, but its not software related.

title says it all.
last night, in the middle of an essay, my laptop forcefully shutdown.
i wondered why until i felt the bottom of it. it almost burnt my hand, it was incredibly hot.
now ive been keeping a close eye on it and i have found out that the only cooling fan on the laptop wont spin. im not sure if it has a temperature threshold or is just broken.

what would you guys suggest be the best cause of action (to both finding out for sure why its doing it, and how to fix it?)?

 

Laptop fan spins terribly

Hi Team Windows

I have an issue with different laptop brands loaded windows 10 and windows 11.

The fan spins terribly for a longer time while working on a spreadsheet or outlook, basically list resources consumed.

This has nothing to do with low ram or low hard drive space.

The same issue happens just after logging on to the laptop.

I suspect this could be a windows update bug, I am not really sure I would like to check if anyone has experienced the same issue and solution.
