    User Account Log In Credentials Stopped Working


    We have a peer to peer network consisting of 4 desktops and 7 laptops, all running windows 10, all shared to everyone on the network. The desktops are running pro 21H2. One of the desktops named "OFFICE" suddenly decided that the log in credentials to "SALES" are no longer valid user name or password incorrect. All the other computers can successfully get in to SALES, and OFFICE can successfully get in to all the other pcs on the network. Possibly related, when OFFICE tries to access a particular one of the laptops on the network, it keeps "forgetting" the log in credentials, however simply

    Hello,

    As you are still facing problem with check credential notification, I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the same issue occurs here as well.

    Here are the steps:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Choose Accounts and then select
      Family and other users
      .
    • Select add someone else on this PC.
    • Enter a user name and hit next.
    • Click on Finish.
    • Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

    Let us know the status of the issue to assist you further.

    • How many user account do you have on your system?
    • Are you able to log-in to the system?
    Meanwhile, let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps. I suggest you to remove the username from Credential Manager and check.


    • Type credential Manager on the Windows search bar and select Credential Manager.
    • Now try removing the user name and password by clicking on the credential.

    Hi Michael,

    To assist you better, I would like to ask some questions:

    • In which website are you facing this issue?
    • Did anybody else login to the particular website in Internet Explorer from your user account?

    The issue might cause if anybody else had logged-in and saved their password credentials in the browser by checking the option to Keep me signed in while logging in to the website. I suggest you to remove the website credentials by following the steps provided
    below and check if it helps.

    • Right Click on Start and select Control Panel.
    • Change view type to Large icons.
    • Click on Credential Manager.
    • Click on Web Credentials.
    • Select the Website and click on Remove.
    • Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
