Windows 10: User cannot be loaded

Hi. After reseting my Windows 10 i got this error when i tried to log into my one and only account on that PC. i tried everything. Start up repiar - didnt work there was an error. Reseting again - just didnt work. Uninstal recent SW updates - didnt work there was an error. tried to boot into safe mode - that i did and i wanted to rename NTUSER file but i just had grey screen with sometimes flashing the bottom bar. So i pressed ctrl+alt+del, that worked, opened task manager and from there open file explorer there i got an error which said that the sys32 couldnt find desktop or something like

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

Hello,

When attempting to login to my computer, I get the following message:

"The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in.

User profile cannot be loaded."

I referred to this Help article,You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error
message,

but the only difference is I only have one user profile on this computer. So, I can't login with another user to go through the steps listed in this post.

Any suggestions?

I am using registry editor from command prompt. Drilled down to c:windows\system32\config inside the Load Hive dialog window. Have selected (checked box) the SAM file; clicking on Open opens error message that says:


SAM
This file is in use.
Enter a new name or close the file that's open in another program.

I am at a loss, since I am not running any other program!

Any suggestions?

The SAM file is listed as being 64KB file size.
