Windows 10: User does't load

Hello, this issue happened to me yesterday and today as well. I turned my laptop on in the morning as I would always do, then logged into my user. It took some time to load then loaded a black screen with the mouse cursor movable. All I could do is run task manager using ctrl+shift+esc.From there I ran cmd without administrator privileges, and found out it loaded system 32, not my user. So, I knew something was off and my user couldn't be loaded. Even after locking my user and logging back in, the issue persists.The only solution was for me to restart my laptop using ctrl+alt+del just to be

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

Hello,

When attempting to login to my computer, I get the following message:

"The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in.

User profile cannot be loaded."

I referred to this Help article,You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error
message,

but the only difference is I only have one user profile on this computer. So, I can't login with another user to go through the steps listed in this post.

Any suggestions?

I am using registry editor from command prompt. Drilled down to c:windows\system32\config inside the Load Hive dialog window. Have selected (checked box) the SAM file; clicking on Open opens error message that says:


SAM
This file is in use.
Enter a new name or close the file that's open in another program.

I am at a loss, since I am not running any other program!

Any suggestions?

The SAM file is listed as being 64KB file size.
