Windows 10: User Error after reset

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone can help as I'm currently at a loss. I'm running windows 10 and today I reset my laptop as I need to pass it on to someone else and wanted to give it a fresh start. The reset was completed however upon reboot, instead of prompting me to create a new user it still shows my user as was before the reset. When I try to log in it comes up with the error " The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded". This is the only user on the laptop. Safemode loads a white screen with a cursor but I can't do anything with it apart from runnin

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

 

Other Users-PW Reset

Hello,

I request you to try the steps below:

• Press "Windows" + "R" on the keyboard.
• Type "netplwiz" and press Enter key.
• Select the user account and click on "Reset password"
• Enter the new password.

You may also see the data of all the user accounts by following the steps below:

• Press "Windows" + "R" on the keyboard.
• Type ".." and press Enter key.
