Windows 10: User folders empty, some desktop items disappeared

logged into my computer and saw a few items missing from my desktop. Windows 10, all updates installedall user related folders show nothing but under properties it shows that data is still on there.I tried messing in Regedit with no luck, It doesn't look like I'm in a temp account the search bar has trouble finding apps that are installed as wellidk what happenedrunning this command did not work **attrib +r -s -h "C:\Users\XXXXX" /S /D**

Disappearing folder

I've encountered a strange problem in windows 10 where I tried to delete a file in a folder, but ended up deleting the whole directory. It did so without the usual pop-up to confirm delete or say it was too big for the recycle bin. It was my Videos folder, so pretty big, but the disk allocation has also remained the same.

I've always had a problem with 'double icons' for the different user folders, including videos, and so I'm thinking it could have something to do with the whole thing, especially as now one of the two video folders has disappeared from the users folders.

The first thing i tried was 'Undo delete', but it just bought the folder back with non of the contents. Then, I went straight to Recuva, but it came up blank (there must have been over 50 videos in the folder)

I'm at a little bit of a loss as where to start looking for this disappeared folder and was hoping someone might have some suggestions?

I can only suggest that you
1 Add a list of steps you have already taken.
2 Add a comment about restarting the computer. Do the deleted icons disappear then?
2 Add a comment explaining if any Desktop items do delete correctly and whether or not there are any significant differences between those that do delete correctly and those that don't.
3 Add a list of any OS tweaks you have done & any third-party OS-related utilities you have run.

I assume you have already reinstalled your display driver.
I don't see a Repair install as being relevant. Repair Install - TenForumsTutorials

all of my user folder items appear on my desktop

I did something wrong (not sure what) and now all of my user folder items appear on my desktop. I no longer have a Desktop folder under my user folder. Can someone tell me what to do to get this fixed? I'm guessing the first step is to recreate my Desktop
folder, but I don't know how to do that.
