User is only user on computer, yet still missing permissions

Full context here: I got this computer from my stepbrother. Long story short it was his, and now he gave it to me. It had his user account on it. I logged into that, then added my own account, gave that account administrator, and deleted/removed everything related to my stepbrother's old account. After doing this, I'm beginning to have issues of not being able to save to folders or move folders that I've already added. For more context, I have two drives, one internal one external, that contain important data to me. I was able to transfer/access the data off the drives just fine. However, toda

Current active users that are friends

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

  3. Removing a "hidden" user and user files

Thanks for your patience. I was able with "Net User" to remove the left over user. It no longer appears when I invoke Net User.

Now for the user's folder which remains behind. After performing the series of steps that you suggested, I attempted to delete this folder. The result again was an error message about permission

"Administrators" appears on the list in the list of advanced security.

    User Profile Service failed

To resolve your concern, we suggest that you follow these steps:

    • Copy the Default folder (in C:\Users) from another windows 10 computer.
    • Rename the Default folder to something like DefaultOLD (just to keep it for safety reasons).
    • Paste it in your Users folder.
    • To make sure that you won't have problems with permissions of the "implant" folder, just transfer it via a FAT/FAT32 formatted USB stick (those filesystems don't have permissions).

This will provide solution to the error User Profile Service failed.

Let us know if you need more assistance.
