    Windows 10 Versions

There are at least three versions of windows 10: 1607, 1703, 1709. One PC, upgraded from windows 7, uses version 1703 while a second, upgraded from windows 8.1, continues to use 1607 after failed attempts to upgrade to version 1703. What is the significance
of these different versions of windows 10?

Press Win + R. Run netplwiz

Does the mystery "master" user appear there? Try deleting it from there if it is. If not, uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password to use the computer. Click apply. On the next window that pops up click Cancel. The OK on the original netplwiz screen.

You might also have set a password in BIOS/UEFI which you will have to go into BIOS/UEFI setup to remove.

    Hi,

now i found out what it was. The autologon was enabled for the user "master". This user does not exist. Now i know why i couldn't find him ;-)I disabled autologon and now everything is working fine. The autologon must have been enabled during the upgrade from 1607 to 1703.
