    User name change screw up


    Hallo, I kept noticing my pc had like "Sebas"the display name like when you open cmd prompt without administrator, I tried to change thatand I didn't really like being called that name so I tried to change it but it just screwed up my entire pc

    what I did to try and change my name was
    regedit>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Microsoft>Windows NT>Current Version>Profile List and one of the 4 there had my user which I changed to nobody immediately after it started having errors so I restarted but when it came back up everything was ****, there were some apps and I was told I was put in a temporary account or something. I changed the name back to Sebas, which didn't work, I used the restore point but didn't work. Which my main problem is just most of my files are gone and the installed apps that I did have are therethanks to one drive but when I click on it, it won't launch at all. I reset my entire pc and I thought everything was fine but I kept noticing like, whenever on google things wouldn't respond or pages were just screwed up and it'd all be fixed when I refreshed the page but I can't help that it's because of the name change because it never happened beforeif it did, rarely and I'm scared that there are more problems or if these are related. Along with apps not launching as quickly or other things

    How to change User name on Windows 10

    Hi Davit,

    I suggest you to follow the steps below to change the User name:

    • Press Windows logo + R keys to open the run command, type
      netplwiz       and click on Ok.
    • On the Users tab, click on Properties to change the user name and then click on

    Change the user name in Windows 10

    Hi Rick,

    Thank you for writing us back.

    Are both the accounts are admin account?

    I would suggest you to go through the below steps:

    Steps: To determine the user account type:


    • Login to any account.

    • Press Windows key+X.

    • Click on Control Panel.

    • Click on User accounts.

    • Your user account will show and below that it will show your local account or admin account.

    • Once you know about the account type.

    • You can go to user account and change the name.

    • Press Windows key+R.

    • Type netplwiz and press enter.

    • Select the account and click on properties.

    • Change the user name and click on apply and then ok and one more time click on ok on the main screen.

    • Reboot the computer and check if it helps
