Windows 10: User name on Startup

I have been struggling with this problem for sometime now. As my computer starts up and it shows the welcome screen it displays a name. I'm trying to change that name. I've tried many different approaches to change this and get it to stay permanently. On doing my research I found quite a bit about this. The last approach I took is going in through "RUN" and entering the "NETPLWIZ" file and following the steps very closely I change the name. This works for a few days then it reverts back to its previous setting. I guess it finds some earlier reference file that switches things back. Doing this opens the file "lusrmgr" file - local users and groups. In there I have 7 various user accounts so I've changed all of them under "properties" to the correct full name it asks for. I've found that this change will only last a few days before it finds its way back to the old user account name in the one user account that shows up on the welcome screen. I would like to change this and have the user account name stay put. Any steps that could get me further into this for a solution would be very much appreciated.

How to change User name on Windows 10

I suggest you to follow the steps below to change the User name:

• Press Windows logo + R keys to open the run command, type
  netplwiz and click on Ok.
• On the Users tab, click on Properties to change the user name and then click on
  Apply.

In regards to changing your name on the sign in screen, it will depend whether you're signed in as a local user or signed in using a Microsoft account.

For changing a local account user name, follow these steps:

• Click the Start button, type User Accounts then press
  Enter.
• Select your local account.
• Click Change the account name.
• Enter the new name for the account.
• Click Change Name to complete.

For changing a Microsoft account user name, please follow the steps below.

• Sign in with your Microsoft account
  here.
• Beside your full name, click Edit name.
• Enter the new name for your Microsoft account.
• Click Save to complete.
• Restart your PC.
