Windows 10: User on terminal server cannot sign in.

Hello we run a virtual terminal server environment. A user used to work for us and then quit afterwards the account had been unlicensed and then deleted out of our Active Directory. But his user profile had remained on the terminal server. The user is now reemployed and the account was recreated. But when the user goes to rdp into the remote terminal they are met with a "Windows cannot sign you in" error and will be forced to work off of a temporary desktop. Any advice will be appreciated!

Black Screen on User Login Windows Server 2016 Terminal Server

I have randomly only Black Screen, when a User logs on to a Windows 2016 Terminal Server.

The Server ist fully patched trough Windows Update.

I tried already lot of suggestions that I have found in forums on the internet - nothing helped.

As lots of other Admins are facing a similar problem with in different configuration, I think this should be addressed by Microsoft - or does anyone have an idea on how to solve it?

- The Terminal Server is running on a esxi 6.5 Server in my case - but I have seen other Admin having the same problem on hardware install as well

- Chrome is installed on my Terminal Server

- Around 50 people are working on this Terminal Server

- The problem seems to occur daily with random users

- All Users can be affected by the problem

- Ctrl+Alt+End does work (so the User could logoff himself or start Task Manager)

- There is no log of this issue

 

How to sign in to Windows 10 as different User

Hi,

There are several ways that you can do to switch between your 2 accounts, such as going through
Start menu, through Ctrl +
Alt + Delete screen, through Sign-in
screen or through Task Manager. For us to isolate the issue, we would like to ask the following questions:

• Are you connected to a domain or managed by Windows Server?
• Have you made any recent changes to your system settings prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow these steps to switch user account:

• Click/tap on your desktop to make it the current focused (active) window, and press
  Alt + F4 keys to open Shut Down Windows window.
• Click on the drop down menu and select Switch user.
• You will now be taken to the lock screen to unlock.
• It will show you the sign-in screen to select and sign in to the account you want to switch to.

Would you suggest me some idea about the term of Terminal Server which your firm used?

Does it suggest a computing model of mainframe?
