  1. User profile cannot be located after unsuccessful reset

I tried resetting my PC to improve my computer speed a bit. I chose to delete all files and locally instal windows. After I leaving it to do it's thing I came back but wasn't asked to create a profile and I could still see my old username but saw the following prompt prior:The ProfSvc service failed to sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded.I wasn't really sure what happened and after realising its not working I went ahead and tried resetting it again this time observing what was going on. After reaching 72% of resetting the PC it suddenly stopped and then went on to undo changes probably fai

User profile cannot be located after unsuccessful reset

    Hi IllegalMemer,

I'm Christine, a Windows user like you. I'll do my best to help you.

I can see here that you're unable to sign in on your device after performing a reset. Looks like the user profile is corrupted that's why you cannot sign in.

Have you tried to enable the built in admin and create a new user from there?

We can try to enable the built-in administrator and you will create a new user profile.

To open the Windows recovery environment, please follow the steps below:

Please hold down the shift key on your keyboard and click the restart option on your screen. (Do not release the SHIFT key)

You will see the Choose an option screen: Click Troubleshooting,

    click Advanced Options

Command prompt, type the command below and press enter

    net user administrator /active:yes

After that, restart your device and sign in to the Admin account that you will see on your lockscreen, please create a new user, please follow these steps:

    Create a new user profile:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/cre...

If the issue persists, the best option would be performing a clean installation.

How to perform clean install Windows 10:

Please let me know the result. I'll be happy to assist you all the way until it's resolved.

    Thank you,

  3. User profile cannot be located after unsuccessful reset

I tried resetting my PC to improve my computer speed a bit. I chose to delete all files and locally instal windows. After I leaving it to do it's thing I came back but wasn't asked to create a profile and I could still see my old username but saw the following prompt prior:

The ProfSvc service failed to sign-in.

    User profile cannot be loaded.

I wasn't really sure what happened and after realising its not working I went ahead and tried resetting it again this time observing what was going on. After reaching 72% of resetting the PC it suddenly stopped and then went on to undo changes (probably failing to do so). I tried booting up safe mode and after waiting 20 min all I got was a black screen with the cursor visible (I could open task manager using ctrl+alt+del but thats about it). I then tried booting up safe mode with the command prompt and that worked but the fixes I used aiming to fix the user profile issue failed. There are also no system restore points to revert to. What should I do in this situation? Should I attempt a clean windows 10 install using a USB drive? I have ordered one and now I am waiting for it to arrive as I'm pretty sure I exhausted all my other options.
