User Wiped

I just logged into my laptop after traveling with it in a travel bag, and my user account info was wiped. My desktop which had a lot of important school files was wiped. I think the airport security machine may have messed with my computer. Is there anything
I can do to recover the files that were on my desktop? I stupidly did not back them up before leaving.
