Windows 10: Username or password incorrect windows 10 while trying to create a user by using the 'Other...

Hello! I get the error message: Username or password is incorrect every time a try to add a user using the 'Other User' option on Windows start up. The other user credentials are correct because a can successfully add it to another PC.I'm using Windows 10.Any idea that can help?

The installation of Windows 10 Pro 64 bit on my PC is only a couple of months old and was going fine until I decided I didn't need a Login password and unticked the relevant box in User Accounts.

Now when I start the computer I get the following message on the startup screen 'The username or password is incorrect. Try Again.

I then enter my user name and password but these are not accepted after trying on numerous occasions.

The only way I can start Windows is by inserting my Microsoft Login details.

Could someone please advise how to rectify the problem.

I've previously run netplwiz from the command prompt to disable the sign in process in Windows 10.




Which worked fine in build 10049 but in 10158 & 10166 I now get this error message





I don't understand how this message can appear as no password has been entered at this stage.
Pressing OK, or waiting 2 minutes results in this screen





Entering the PIN or password from the sign-in option continues the login process.
Apart from starting again from scratch, any ideas on how to correct this.

Hi,

Every time I start my laptop this error, "Other User. The username or password is incorrect", appears. My correct username is in the login box, I enter my password and continue.

So it's not the greatest inconvenience in the world but it is an irritation. Anyone know how I can stop it?
