  1. UserOOBEBroker.exe is open whenever my PC idles until I open settings?

I've been searching through my settings for the right way to turn it off. It's been showing up since the KB4578974 update I installed three days ago.

The process is legitimate (Windows/System32/oobe), and my antivirus/antimalware programs all come up clean. The odd part is that it goes away when I close the settings window after trying to find the way to get rid of it.

For future redditors coming to ask what the hell is up, OOBE is the Out of Box Experience, it's what sets up your account after updates/a fresh Windows install, but it's rearing its head more than it should.

If anyone knows what's up, or if you've all been seeing this, please tell me. I don't have 2004 yet, but I know a lot of posts asking about it showed up when that update dropped.

    Exe file slow to open

A SFX archive isn't going to open right away. The files have to be extracted first. When you are opening it in WinRar, it's not extracting the file, it's just reading it which is why it opens right away.

    Bluetooth still on while idle

Thanks for following the steps. Now, the settings won't take effect if you are only using normal PC idle mode. Normal functionality of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings are to stay connected even if PC is idle. With the settings that you have created, we would
suggest that you set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or
    Hibernate
once idle. In this way, the settings "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" should take effect.

To set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or Hibernate when idle, please follow these steps:

    • Open Control Panel, set view by: Small
      icons.
    • Look for Power Options.
    • Click on Change when the computer sleeps on the left pane.
    • Set a timer.

Please try it out. Hope it helps. If you have any other concerns, don't hesitate to come back to us.

Exe files can only be opened by "run as administrator"

    Hi,

Corrupted registry settings, some third-party products, or viruses can change the default configuration for running .exe files. To rectify the issue with opening this particular file type, we suggest that you follow the steps
    below:

    • Right-click on the Start button, then choose Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    • Type regedit and press Enter.
    • Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe.
    • Double-click (Default) key, then set the Value data to
      exefile.
    • Scroll down to go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command key.
    • Double-click (Default) key, then set the Value data to “%1” %*.
    • Restart your computer.

Update us if it addressed your issue.

    Thank you.
