Windows 10: "Users" file is taking up all the space on my C: drive

Discus and support "Users" file is taking up all the space on my C: drive in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; The only things that are in this file are shortcuts to other parts of the drive.     "Users" file is taking up all the space on my C: drive


    The only things that are in this file are shortcuts to other parts of the drive. Why is it taking up so much space?The file path is C:>Users>User just to clarify.

    User folder on C drive is taking up disc space

    I am using a relatively new (under 3 months) laptop with 120gb ssd. The user folder on C drive is now taking up over 80gb of space. I keep all photos etc on an external - any suggestions as to what is happening - this drive should be virtually empty

    Unallocated Space to C Drive

    Hi Travis,

    It appears that a disk partition was created but was never assigned its allocation. Assuming there are no files stored in the unallocated partition, perform these steps to combine it with your C: drive:

    • In Disk Management, right-click on (C"Users" file is taking up all the space on my C: drive :) which appears next to the
      Unallocated partition.
    • Select Extend.

    Let us know if you're able to combine the spaces after following the steps above.
