Windows 10: User's Timezone Changing From CST to EST multiple times a day

Good morning,I am struggling with a weird issue with some of the users at one of my network locations. We are running a AD network and our local DC is running Windows 2019. To the best of my knowledge, the domain controller is correctly configured to be used as the time source for our domain computers. However, I've had a couple of users complain of a recurring issue where their computer will randomly change their time zone from CST to EST causing it to appear to be an hour later than it really is.When the issue first started, we checked to see if the set time and set time zone settings were

Timezone changes to CST automatically even though I am geologically in PST for multiple devices

My company have >20 windows (10/11) users getting incorrect timezone (CST) instead of Pacific Time when connecting to wifi APs in a Los Angels building. They got the right timezone in a nearby building within 100 meter. Both good and bad building are sharing the same 4 public IPs. Can you specify what other factors can change timezone? it’s noticed that the timezone does not change when disabling location change.

 

EDT to EST date modified time change

Hello everyone, I live in USA & Canada EDT timezone (as of oct 13, 2023) observing DST time. We move to EST timezone in November 5, 2023. When going from EDT to EST does a file’s date modified timestamp increase by +1 hr or decrease by -1 hr ?

okay so basically, lets say I saved a file with timestamp Jul 30, 2023 @ 2:30:15 PM in EDT timezone and then when DST ends in November 5, 2023 and the timezone shifts to EST, if I view the same file, will the date modified still show as Jul 30, 2023 @ 2:30:15 PM in EST ? Assuming that I keep all the time settings enabled....
