    was working with a Ahmed-Masoud , thought we had solved the issue but it’s not working. I doublechecked all the steps that Ahmed had me check , all are what I was told to do, anything else that I can check?

    Dell Laptop Lid Close Sensor

    There's a very thin ribbon cable that sends the signals to the screen. This can also cause intermittent blank screens. You can test if this is the cause, by hooking up an external monitor. If the laptop screen goes blank, but the external monitor's doesn't, it might be the ribbon cable.     Dell Laptop Lid Close Sensor

    I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7537 laptop which has a touch screen. I'm having various intermittent issues with the screen going blank which are fixed by opening and closing the lid. I suspect a problem with the lid close sensor but the Dell repair guide doesn't say where this is. How do these switches work and where is it located so I can repair or just disable it?
