    Using an Image Copy to Configure a New Laptop that is Identical to the Old Laptop


    Let's say I buy a new Windows 11 laptop, spend many hours configuring it with software, but eventually notice a hardware issue. I am still within the return period, so the retailer let's me do an exchange for an identical laptop i.e. same model with same CPU, GPU, RAM, etc. Before bringing the laptop back to the retailer I take an image copy of the SSD.Then rather than restarting the software configuration from scratch, perhaps I can simply use the image copy to pick up where I left off in the configuration process. In this scenario I am not sure if Windows 11 would authenticate properly. A

    Verifying identity on new laptop

    I cannot verify the identity on my new laptop. it seems stuck on that page, with the identity codes i have tried not being accepted. When i went on my old laptop and requested a new password they sent me a code to verify a change of password and that worked
    fine on my old laptop. I have tried the old code and the new code on my new laptop but neither have been accepted.
