    ok awesome im about to put my sd card in a usb card reader and see where i can get from there appreciate then info and will let u know if it works ive been able to do it with jump drives i just havent tried a micro sd yet and my jump drive is MIA and i miss my linux lol

    I'm using several micro SD cards in a USB reader. Have couple of live Linux distros with some tools, one is with Macrium Reflect boot disk and one windows rescue disk. They are easier to store than full size USBs, cheaper too.

    It definitely makes sense. Or how do you install Windows without booting from the device on which the install media resides? And if the iso is on a SD card it's necessary to boot from that SD card.

    You can run setup.exe from the install media, from your currently installed Windows, and do an upgrade install, without booting from the install media. Or a repair install, etc. You just can't clean install that way.

    Exactly, no clean install without a working boot device. So I stick to my statement: The OP's question makes complete sense to me.
