Windows 10: Using Bluetooth HID on OOBE Mode

Hi,

I am installing Windows 10 preview 10130 on Dell XPS 27 AIO. My understanding is if no HID devices are available on the system, OOBE HID pairing kicks in and finds nearby BT devices. But I don't see any HID pairing page. Do I need to update anything or Have I missed something?

That link covers HID generically for both Windows Store and Windows Store apps. Near the bottom it notes that, Windows Phone Store apps can access the
Windows.Devices.HumanInterfaceDevice API if the manufacturer supported the HID protocol. That means if the BT HID Profile is supported. The list of supported profiles in WP8 is:

Windows Phone 8 supports the following Bluetooth user profiles:

• Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP 1.2)
• Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP 1.4)
• Hands Free Profile (HFP 1.5)
• Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP 1.1)
• Object Push Profile (OPP 1.1)
• Out of Band (OOB) and Near Field Communications (NFC)

Windows Phone 8.1 supports the same Bluetooth user profiles as Windows Phone 8, and also supports:

• Hands Free Profile (HFP 1.6)
• Bluetooth Low Energy (LE)

Windows Phone 8.1 Update also lets you use your phone as a Network Access Point (NAP), so you can

share your cellular data connection with another device over Bluetooth

No HID, no matter how good the app developer is.

You would need to some OEM Preinstallation Kit to do that, which normally a part of OEM Licenses.

Another option is to just turn off the computer when it reaches OOBE or configure Audit Mode:
