Windows 10: Using HEIC files in Windows 10

I am a teacher and I will often take a picture of our textbook, and throw the image on a projector so we can read/discuss together without getting books out or having the kids find the file online. Just recently, when I put the HEIC files on the projector, the picture looks scrambled like a jigsaw puzzle. If I share the picture with the kids, it looks scrambled on their chromebooks as well. I am running Windows 10 on my computer. Do you know of any solution, other than converting the file? I just like to share the picture because it is so quick. Converting the file will just add time to t

HEIC file viewing

I have the HEIC Image extensions and the HEVC video extensions on my Windows 10 PC but the TWINUI application will still not open the HEIC file. Any suggestions?

I have tried converting it to JPG using the APowersoft application but it downloads the file to a location that does not seem to exist on my PC - "...Users/[user name]\AppData\temp...

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
