Using P2P (Peer to Peer) to distibute files on local lan

I have not seen this question in here, and have not been able to find an answer. I am seeking a way to use the native Windows peer to peer networking to distribute PowerPoint files that my company has created to local clients while keeping one master and all the clients would be read only and updated daily from the master folder or file. Am I barking up a Teflon tree? or can I actually achieve results with this method.

    Thanks for any advice

    :)

Windows 10 update with P2P (peer-to-peer) enabled (Delivery Optimization) kills the whole Internet connectivity - which ports to block?

    Dear Michelle,

I doubt P2P communication ("delivery optimization") goes on standard 80 a 443 ports, that is very unlikely. I might start Wireshark and capturing packets and trying to figure out myself, but that is both time consuming for me (more than asking Microsoft)
and does not provide complete answer, because ports might change (and they do often change in P2P connections like torrents).

In the link provided there is nothing about Windows 10 and delivery optimization.

Please, could you pass on this ticket to somebody else? I need a network specialist.

I will try the Technet Forum link, though. Thanks

I've just ereceived this in an e-mail from Microsoft:

We noticed that the question hasn't been marked as Answered yet and we were wondering if you resolved the issue.

No, my question is not answered. Reply to provide an update or ask for more help.

So here I am, posting an update stating that this issue is not resolved and that I've got no answer yet nor from here, nor from technet, nor from

    Hi there
It's actually possible -- just enable the folder on your computer as SHARED. Now in Network discovery if the clients can see your computer in Windows explorer / File explorer then they should just be able to click on the file and copy it.

Here's how to use File / Windows explorer as an FTP client :

How to use FTP via Windows Explorer HostGator.com Support Portal

Other ways are to use File explorer as an FTP client or use something like WS_FTP -- used to be free it's gone "Pro" (i.e pay) now but there are plenty of places to find the freebie on the net.

    Cheers
