Using MS scan app, how can I can multi-page docs without the system assigning separate file id's to each page?

Using the MS scan utility I'm missing an important feature:

Although the utility can scan multi pages, using the feeder (if you have one), you cannot scan several pages into one document, using the flatbed. But this is necessary, if you want to scan a double sided original.

Request:

After scanning a page, there should be a question, if you want to continue to scan another page in addition to 'view' and 'close'.

 

How can I scan a multi page document into a single file in Windows 10 fax & scan?

I have a HP LaserJet 3020 with automatic scanner - I need to scan a multi-page document into a single file. The ADF feeds each successive page and the scan screen shows "scanning page 2," but when I look at the document, there is no second page. I have discovered
that it is in the scanned docs file as a separate doc. How can I get all pages into a single file?

 

Scan a whole document

I am using an HP Officejet 5740. When I use the 'SCAN' app and place a multi-page document on the feeder it scans each page as a separate doc. How can I scan them all as one document?
