Windows 10: Using Windows 10 Home, error "server i.p. address could not be found"

Error "server i.p. address could not be found" when using URL starting with https://.....

when using either Edge or Chrome browsers.


Tried using ping in DOS, but no packets returned.


However, on an earlier version of Windows on another laptop, using IE, the same URL can be reached.

Moreover, the error is occurring on a newly purchased Dell laptop, so a fresh install of Windows 10 and Edge.

Hi Gavin,

Apologize for the delay in response to your issue.

• Do let us know if your device is connected to a Windows Server?
• Have you tried the troubleshooting steps suggested in the Microsoft help article in my previous post and check if it helps?

Step like: Run the Network troubleshooter, Update the rivers, Rollback the drivers, turn off firewalls etc..

Try the above troubleshooting steps update us the status for further assistance.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files.
