    Using Windows 98 Plus! screensavers in Windows 10


    Hello!

    If this has been asked before, please point me to the relevant thread. I liked the screensavers of Windows 98 Plus!, such as Underwater and World Traveler. I followed this Guide and managed to make most of them work, but not World Traveler and a couple others. I guess they need some missing DirectX files and as a result they just show a black screen. If anyone can help me, please do.

    Windows 98 problem

    why not try to use virtual PC and emulate windows 98 on a XP machine or did someone already suggest that?

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 98......

    Windows 98 SE is Windows 9x and Windows 2000 is Windows NT. Some software may not run on Windows 2000 where it did on Windows 98 SE (ISA especially).

    Windows 98 SE does have USB support but it isn't near as plug n' play as it is today. You have to make sure to install drivers (if nothing else, generic Microsoft drivers) for all USB devices. The Windows 98 SE disk comes in real handy for that.
