    Problem with Excel macro to open Word files

    I am having a problem with an Excel macro which opens Word files. The macro opens the files OK but sometimes the file is not visible; instead, it is hidden in the window behind the Excel Workbook and the Word icon on the taskbar flashes to show that the file is open. I want the Word file to appear visible on-screen automatically without my having to click on the taskbar.

    The relevant part of the macro is:

    Set objWord = CreateObject("Word.Application")
    With objWord
    .Documents.Open DocsFullPath(i)
    .Visible = True
    .Activate
    .Application.WindowState = 1
    .ActiveWindow.ActivePane.View.Zoom.Percentage = 100
    End With
    GoTo Finish

    Can anyone help me resolve this? It's been driving me mad!

  3. Microsoft has blocked macros, but no macros inside!

    Hi, I have Office 365 Education updated to this date (365 apps for enterprise) and I wonder why I see this alert message when opening a previous word document:
    The file is created by me and it's fine, there are no macors inside it. Plus I opened it multiple times before that and the message didn't appear.
    This message is randomly appearing in word documents and not related specifically to this file.
    Do you have any idea why this message shows up? does it buggy somehow due to this? >> Microsoft rolls back decision to block Office macros by default?
    Note:
    • I have Windows 10 Education 21H1 - 19043.1889
    • I have some add-ins in Word.

    Word opening files as Document1, Document2

    This was the ticket. The .docx extension was associated with a word document template file type.

    I used Nirsoft's File Types Manager software to correct this and now everything works fine.

    That is, I open the document itself (not two copies or one copy), for reading or editing, if I:

    • Double-click on the file which I usually do
    • Right-click on the file and pick "open with > Word"
    • Right-click on the file and pick "open"

    Prior to your help and my fixing it, only the third option above worked.

    Big thanks.
