Windows 10: V-Sync Permanently On

    Hello! So I have a dell laptop, with a 6th gen i7 cpu, 16GB RAM, and an intel hd graphics 530, in theory it shouldn't really struggle in day to day tasks or even gaming.I've always been running window 10 on this laptop, ever since i heard the news about the october window 10 support termination i installed windows 11 instead, i of course bypassed the requirements to install it but it shouldn't have been a problem really, the only problem i'm facing is v-sync, i've always had v-sync off in most of my games, but right after i installed windows 11, my games were locked on 60 frames even when i tu

    Things to do once connected new G-Sync monitor

    I'm getting my G-Sync monitor today.

    I think I have to take the following steps:

    • Connect 1440p G-sync monitor with DP cable
    • Connect second 1080p 60Hz monitor by HDMI
    • Startup PC
    • Reinstall display driver
    • Restart PC (I always do that after display driver install)
    • Activate G-Sync in NV control panel (I believe also V-Sync is auto on after that?)
    • Set my 1440p monitor from 1080p to 1440p
    • Calibrate my 1440p monitor
    Also ingame, I should turn off V-Sync?
    Are there any problems running a second 60Hz 1080p monitor?

    Is there anything else I should do/know?

    V-sync

    V-Sync is used to stop tearing (the horizontal lines you see when panning left and right in games when not using V-sync)
    V-sync also caps your frames to whatever the resolution of your monitor is set at.
    This does not mean your card will stay at 60fps, just means the frames will not go above 60fps.
    I have V-sync on all games as I don't like seeing tearing.
