Windows 10: Various Different Process Running With One Window Open - Task Manager

I have this issue with various different applications such as Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word that will show more processes running than windows I have open and it is boggling down my processing power. For example, I have five 5 tabs open under one window in a Microsoft Edge browser but the task manager is running 47 different instances of Microsoft Edge. I've seen the same thing happen with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe, etc and I don't know how to limit them, or which ones to close or to cap it so it doesn't take up my CPU processing power. RE: Process Hacker. You can open the services tab then press Ctrl+A then right click then select "copy" and paste them into a text file or paste the list here. Maybe there's something obvious that stands out.

 

No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.

 

Duplicate processes running in task manager

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about processes running in the background.

This is pretty normal as processes takes time to end on task manager after you exit on the program. As for the multiple processes on each application, it is actually normal. Programs run 1 process per tab, extensions and GPU processes. It's like the application
running multiple small processes compared to 1 big process.
