Give me vc_red.msi so I can uninstall updates on Windows 10 Pro. Thank you. This is NOT a question. And if you ever try to install an update without my consent again, there'll be trouble, I'll yank out my power cable. When I say "install on Jan 4th", YOU WILL INSTALL ON JAN 4TH AND NOT TODAY WHEN I TURN OFF MY PC.You have no right downloading updates behind my back I don't even know whether I want them or not.I yank out my internet cable before turning off my pc and you STILL start updating, meaning that's exactly what you did.Shall I start blocking all Windows apps and services from accessi

  3. VC_RED.

    To Anyone Knowledgeable:

I inadvertently fowled-up my hand-built PC, resulting in my “Windows 7 Home Professional” 64-bit needing to be reinstalled.
I have my own CD for this, and took it to a purportedly reputable Tech Shop with some instructions for what I needed to have done.
However, I have no idea as to what was actually reinstalled (when I start-up my PC, I see “Windows 7 Professional” but not “Windows 7 Home Professional” indicated as the OPS), and now I have a Drive that contains “VC_RED — Cabinet File” and “VC_RED —
Windows Installer” (both dated 7 November 2007, well before I built my PC in 2013), so I have no clue as to what OPS I actually am using.

May anyone know what “VC_RED” is or does?

    Respectfully yours,

What are these VC_Red files on my computer?

    Hi,

I will be glad to help you with the issue you have with the computer.

VC_Red files are temporary files are erroneously generated by the installer into the root directory of one of your drives, instead of the temp directory.

For reference you can follow the below link:

VCredist installs temporary files in root directory - Visual Studio

    Thank you.
