  1. Verbatim SSD External drive not recognized

I have a Verbatim Vx500 external drive that worked fine with Windows 10. But when I plug it in after upgrading to Windows 11 it usually shows as Drive d: in "My Devices and Drives", but greyed out, and when I try to access it says "Please insert a disc in drive d:". Also it does not show in "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media". However sometimes it does not show in "My Devices and Drives" but does show in "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media", but without a drive letter. "Chkdsk" gets the response "Cannot open volume for direct access".I took the drive to the store where I bought it the

  2. Windows 10 not recognizing SSD in external drive docking station

I just purchased a WD Blue SSD to replace an existing HDD as the primary drive in my laptop. I have a Nekteck external drive docking station that I am trying to use to clone the primary drive. When I insert the SSD it is not recognized as a drive. If
I view Devices I can see the dock and I can see that it recognizes the WD drive is in the doc and says the device is working properly. However I cannot get the OS to recognize it as a drive in file manager. It does recognize one of my other HDD drives just
    fine. I appreciate any suggestions.

  3. External drive not recognized

I have an external drive that is not being recognized. I have unplugged it and and plugged it back in and still not being recognized. I see it listed in device manager and it says it is working properly. In disk management it says Disk 1 Unknown not initialized.
I have tried changing drive letters not able to do that. This happened when I disconnected an hdmi cable, The external drive stopped responded at that point so I unplugged it but when In plugged it back it is not being recognized. I can feel the disk spinning
so it is working. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
