Windows 10: Verify caller about Microsoft problems

I received a call from Alert Media stating I had a problem with my IP address and that my firewall needs updating. Do they work for you?

Hi,

To show the Caller ID, please follow these simple steps:

• From the Start screen, swipe left.
• Scroll and tap Phone.
• Tap the Menu icon.
• Tap Settings/call settings.
• Tap the Show my caller ID to drop-down.
• Tap to select the desired option from the list.

E7 caller ID problem

Hi,

Anyone else having problems with the E7 caller ID? I have a problem that randomly the phone doesn´t show the callers name, even if he/she is listed on my phonebook. This is not related to dublicate entries, because it works right after phone restart, but
fails randomly. The SMS list is also affected, but not all the time. Few times a have seen a call come in and not show the name of the caller. After I have missed that call, I´ll go to the missed calls list and there is the name of the caller?!

There seems to be similar problems on the other E -series phones, but I didn´t find any resolution browsing the forum.

 

VoIP problems (Caller ID specific)

Rather strange, becuase the caller ID protocol shouldn't have changed.

Can you borrow a newer caller-id ready phone from a freind and see if that works before you buy the one they're selling? Or... find someplace local that sells caller ID units and try one out.
