Windows 10: verify username popup

    hello was just wondering if this is normal behaviour for windows 10 does not happen all the time just once in a while.
    get a little popup like the one when you have a display driver crash. asking to verify user and brings up box to put pin or password in. is this normal

    Problem with Credentials

    I have a network of 15 computers all Windows 10. I upgraded our server cpu to Windows 10 last. Now only 1 of the other cpus will not connect to the server. I get the credential popup. I have typed in the cpu name and username, but there is no password
    on the server. I get invaild credentials. I even tried adding a password, still invalid. I have verified that I am typing it correctly (compname/username). I will say the cpu that is giving the error was off the network when the server cpu was updated.....

    verify microsoft account popup

    After the recent Windows 10 update on the first week of August 2016, Windows now has a pop up window that tells me

    "we need to verify the password for your Microsoft account."

    Is this legitimate, or a phishing scam? Because if its real, it really, really really looks like a phishing scam.

    Also and off-topic, I know Im old and out of step with yall kids, but I didnt buy a computer to make friends with a megalithic computer company. I dont need an account, I dont even know what its supposed to do. Geez, guy!

    I'm not sure about what you mean by the "like the one when you have a display driver crash" but windows does ask you to verify your id sometimes. It takes you to the "Manage your account" screen in settings and you have to enter your pin.

    Is that what you mean? If so, yes it is normal. It happens if I boot my windows on another machine and lots of SP3 users have get it also.

    yep that's what I mean thanks for that also does it log you out of onedrive occasionally as well

    Well that happens on my wife's PC also - one day in 5 perhaps she has to put in her MS Id and password for OneDrive (even though she always signs on with MS account).

    Not sure if it is normal (seems like a bug) but both happen to me....

    I never worried about it until you mentioned it. Perhaps I should *Think
