Windows 10: Verifying sending to wrong email

I cannot verify my account at all. I changed my password and when I tried to sync my one drive it sends the code to my old email and will not allow me to change out into a new method. It only allows me to send it to my old email that the site was shut down years ago. I have a new email set up so when I change the password I can. I have no idea why to verify wants to go to a different email. I also have my phone number in it, but it will not send a code to my phone. It will only send the code to my outdated phone.So, now I can't link everything together and technically I do not have my laptop s

Issues with trying to verify cortana, it is sending the code to wrong email address.

when I tried to use cortana, it wants to send a code to my email address, problem is the email address is wrong. somehow it is one character off. part of it should be 71b and instead it is missing the number one and it is sending to 7b. cannot get that
code.

 

Verifying isn't working. Won't send to new email to verify.

Hello,

I have tried to add an email 'alias' to my primary account on Outlook.com.

When I go in to add a new alias, it is asking me to verify. I hit the send email button but I don't receive the email.

I have checked on the account on PC looking in spam and junk boxes as well as the inbox but it appears that the verification email isn't going anywhere. I have sent a test email from another account to that email address of the alias and it is being received
fine. Not sure why it is so hard just to verify an email address.

I did some reading about the "two-step verification" and have downloaded the "Authenticator" app and set it up. Thinking it might use this when I click on verify but it doesn't. It still wants to send to my alias email address where I can't receive it. I
have been attempting to sort this out for the past week and it's frustrating me. Not even a contact phone number that I can call to talk to a tech regarding my issue.

Is there a way that this verify link can be sent somewhere else. Another email address or to my verified phone number on the account perhaps?

There must be an easier way around this. I'm not by any means tech-savvy, so if somebody can dumb it down for this Aussie chap so I can at least have the alias address verified, I will be very appreciative.

Alias email not getting verified

I get the email, I follow the instructions but nothing happens.

It brings me to this:
