  1. Very Major Problem With Error 0x8007025D While Reinstalling Windows 10

I am about to rip out my hair due to this damned error. So I am currently trying to reinstall Windows 10/reformat my laptop. I ran the Media Installation Tool on my dad's laptop and have it on my usb now. I went through the setup on my laptop, selected Windows 10 Home, deleted everything on both drives, selected the one that is left, and now the migraine inducing part. The second step gets to above 80% and bam. It punches me in the face with the error 0x8007025D. I have searched many many forums in search for a solution, and I cannot seem to find anything. What is weird is that about a month ago, I reinstalled Windows 10 on my laptop using the same method, and it did work. Now this time it is coming up with this error. Like I said, many many forums but nothing. I am in dire need of help with this. Please tell me if you need any extra information. I will be glad to provide.

    :)

Hello and welcome to TenForums *Smile

It is best to only have the one drive connected when you clean install W10. You can add the other one later.

Follow the procedure outlined in this tutorial - including deleting all the partitions unless you particularly want to keep a factory installed recovery partition.

    Clean Install Windows 10

It might be worth creating a new ISO with the media creator tool in case the first one was corrupted in some way.

  5. So I have tried and tried. Installing only with one drive connected does not work. I followed the procedure, didn't work. Before making this thread, I had already downloaded the iso 3 times. Now at 4 and counting. Only change is the second step is gets up to 88% now. Still stops at about 80%. I am clueless as to what to do now.

This old thread had the same 0x8007025D error code. A variety of reasons were found, one being corrupt media (which you've ruled out, by the sounds on it). Others included memory faults and 'too large' a disk partition (particularly on SSDs). There may be others, I stopped skimming through at page 2 *Smile

failed during clean install Error Code 0x8007025D

  7. Ok . So far nothing. I had already seen that thread before. This time I tried installing Windows 10 using a dvd instead of a usb. Guess what? Same error. I tried with both drives attached, and without 1. I also read that removing ram could help. I have 4 ram sticks. I could only remove 2 because the others are deeper in my laptop. That didn't work. I highly doubt switching the 2 I am able to reach would help one bit. One other thing, another error came up. 0xC0000000 if I remember correctly. For God's sake guys, please be serious. I don't want this $2000 laptop turned into a brick. I have some Windows 7 installer DVDs laying somewhere around my house, but I highly doubt that would even help.

  9. I updated my system specs. Only thing I cannot find is the motherboard. I would try through Windows but there is no operating system on the laptop due to deleting both drives during the installer. Also I ran the "sfc /scan now" command through command prompt in the repair option at the start of the installer.

  10. Ok so I have been doing some reading. It looks like this might only happen with 64 bit. So can anyone tell me how to download Windows 10 32 bit? I tried the Media Creation Tool on my dad's laptop but can only get 64 bit.

You have to untick 'Use the recommended options for this PC' then you can choose anything you want. See steps 5 and 6 in Option One of this tutorial.

Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

Worth testing but remember that only up to 4GB of memory will be used with 32bit, the rest will be redundant.

It might be worth testing you RAM before going much further:

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

  13. Very Major Problem With Error 0x8007025D While Reinstalling Windows 10

So last week I did install 32 bit Windows 10. Worked out fine. After that I tried to install 64 bit again, and the error popped up. As of now I am gonna be running 32 bit. I will run Memtest86 and post what comes up or what happens then.

Glad you found something that works.

Remember, if you ever get to the bottom of why 64 bit fails, you can't upgrade from 32 to 64 bits - it has to be a clean install I'm afraid.
