Windows 10: VGA and DVI?

So we have a bit older pc that is conectected to display through VGA cable both pc and display have VGA and DVI interface avalible And recently we got another display that unfortunately has only hdmi input. So i borrowed a DVI cable from friend and a DVI to hdmi adapter. Conected the second screen to PC but nothing happend it was black.So i tried to disconect the VGA first screen from the PC and the second monitor came up!I tought i hadn't just enabled the settings to mirror my screen but it was turned on.Unplugging one screen conects the other one. Is it because one is analog output and s

DVI to VGA Cord

I have tried to hook up a second monitor through the DVI with a DVI to VGA monitor but it won't recognize the monitor. Any suggestions?

 

Question about VGA to DVI

Okay i have an old CRT monitor with only VGA. On my video card (x850Pro, yes old too) there is VGA and DVI, is there any advantage in using the VGA-to-DVI adapter that came with the video card or is it the same thing as going VGA-to-VGA? I assume there is an extra step that VGA-to-DVI adapter has to do to make the analog signal to digital, is that a disadvantage? Basically VGA-to-VGA or VGA-to-DVI.

Continuum with VGA/DVI-D only monitor

Hello there,

I am planning to try out Continuum with a Lumia 950XL. The monitor I should connect it to has only VGA and DVI-D input connectors, and it supports a 1920 x 1200 resolution on a 24" panel with 16:10 aspect ratio.

• Would it be possible to get a stable, reliable and functional connection between the Lumia and such monitor?
• The resolution and aspect ratio of the external monitor would be correctly interpreted by the Lumia or would I face problems in image size, resolution or aspect ratio of the contect that I see on screen?

My idea is to buy the Display Dock, connect the phone on one end and an HDMI to DVI-D cable on the other end.

How does it sound?
