Windows 10: VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host controller card not working after win-1709

VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host controller card don't work after update til Fall Creators update. No errors, but either USB 2 nor USB 3 devices can be seen on the USB 3 ports on this PCI-e card.

Have tried to find new drivers for it, but no succes. The driver is also really new, 28 Sep. 2017 ver. 10.0.16299.15 Microsoft Digital. *Sad

Any idea how to get this up and running again in Windows 10 build 1709?

Forgot: The onboard USB 3 is working allright, it is just this add-on card that does not work after the update. The card worked fine under previous windows 10 version build 1703

How can this happen?

The Logilink PC0057A USB 3.0 4 - port PCI-Express Card is not always recognized.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

When it is not working VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft) is hidden and grayed out in the Device Manager.

so i bought new PCIE VIA USB 3.0 4 PORT CARD, install it. then i found out my win 10 show

VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft) could not be migrated. i cant use the NEW card. how?

i try many way, uninstall, reinstall, go VIA download river 4.90A but all fail to use this new card.

My main board has a VIA USB3 (VIA VL805 chip) built into it and this is the VIA driver (from Gigabyte) I (can but don't need to) use. I am on WIN10 1607 though and it has a default driver that seems to work just as well. I don't know if this will help, but you're welcome to try it. It's just the driver, no install program, so install via device manager. Point it to (x86 or x64 folder, whichever is correct for your OS) XHCDRV.inf. If a USBHUB shows up with a "!" after, just point that to VIAHUB3.inf

It will not install, says there is no detected hw to this driver.

Found a solution. After some erratic small errors with my PCI-e soundcard, I tried to uninstall Intel chipsetdriver, and reinstall it. After that my soundcard as well as the USB 3 card are working just fine. Maybe my PC soon needs a total reinstall.
Anybody knows when we can download an image including the Fall Creators update?

 

Yes. 17th October, the official launch date.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update coming October 17th 2017

The Media Creation Tool should be updated at or soon after launch. Download a new MCT after the 17th. To be sure you have the right one (an old one will continue to download an old ISO) check its Properties. If it says version 16299 on the Details tab it's the MCT for Fall Creators Update.
