    Split from this thread. Earlier this week the latest Windows version was updated on my Dell laptop.Since then, I have had problems. The video freezes and the audio continues. A few seconds later, the video starts again.It also takes a long time, if at all, to start some programs. The screen remains blank.Internet speed is OK.

  3. Audio out of sync in video Windows 10

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community.

    I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

    • Are you facing this issue with particular video file or all the video files?
    • Did you make any changes prior to this issue?

    I would suggest you to follow the below steps to try resolving this issue.

    Note: The steps mentioned below are applicable to Windows Media player only.

    Make sure “Drop frames to keep audio and video synchronized

    1. Open Windows Media Player.

    2. Click on Tools and then on Options

    3. Switch to Performance tab.

    4. Ensure that a check is next to the "Drop frames to keep audio and video synchronized" and "Turn on DirectX Video Acceleration for WMV files" options.

    5. Click "Apply" and click "OK."

    Restart Windows Media Player and open a video file. Ensure that the audio and video are in sync.

    • Which program are you using to play the audios and videos?
    • Did you try using DVD app?

    This issue might be due to incorrect or outdated drivers installed on your system. Let's try the below steps and check if it helps:

    Step 1: I would suggest you to run
    In-build Windows troubleshooter and check. Please follow these steps:

    • Type troubleshooting in the search box on taskbar.
    • Click troubleshooting in the search results.
    • Click "View all" and then click "Playing Audio".
    • Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions.
    • Now follow the same steps to run Video Playback
      troubleshooter.

    Step 2: Update the Sound and Graphic drivers from Device manager and check:

    Follow the steps to update drivers from the Device Manager:

    1. Right click on Start button, select
    Device Manager.

    2. Find the drivers which needs to be installed and also see if there are any warning symbols. If yes update the drivers.

    3. Right click on the Sound and Display adapter one by one and click on
    Update driver.

    Step 3: Install the latest drivers from the manufacturer website and check.
