Windows 10: Video and Sound hangs in games for seconds at a time

This has been happening as long as I can remember after "upgrading" to Windows 10 from Windows 7 last Summer. I didn't have this trouble whatsoever running the same games on the same hardware, but this has started happening with Windows 10.SymptomsWhen I'm playing games, the sound and/or video will completely hang for seconds at a time. Sometimes just the video, sometimes just the sound, and sometimes both.Here's a video of it happening in Hitman 3, but it's also happened in Back4Blood, Rainbow Six, and other games, in the same manner. No Sound on Second of Two Videos

I am trying to include in a single project two videos, one after the other. Both were recorded with sound. But when I save the project, I lose the sound at the point at which it transitions from the first video to the second. I would appreciate any suggestions!

 

Anyone else have no sound after installing Windows 10 build 10240?

Do you get sound with basic windows drivers?

I suggest you try the following steps:

Follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Right on the start icon and click on device manager
  
• 
  Expand Sound video and Gaming , Select the Audio adapter, right click on un-install.

  Restart the computer.

• What is the format of the videos you are trying to play?
• Does this happens with all other videos as well?

I suggest you to run the Video Playback
Troubleshooter. Follow these steps to run
Video Playback troubleshooter:

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar and select it.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Video Playback
  troubleshooter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Step 2: Also, I suggest you to update your graphic card drivers.

I suggest you to update graphic drivers and check if it helps. Follow the steps given below.

  Press Windows key + X key and click on
  Device manager.

  Search for Display Adapters.

  Right-click on the graphics
  card and click on Update driver software.
