Windows 10: video audio not working

Hi, I got a new laptop about a year ago and did a carbonite transfer off all my items on my old computer to my new laptop. I didn't check until awhile later, but noticed my video folders transferred, but they were emptied. I'm finally had time to transfer them onto a USB device from my old computer and then transfer them to my laptop. When I go to play the video it has an error message saying "can't play, can't find audio device". The audio on my laptop works fine, I can watch youtube videos and even other videos that i have recently digitized and put on my laptop, but not these ones I rec

AUDIO SERVICE NOT WORKING.

In that case, I suggest you follow below.

Step 1:

In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it from the results.

Step 2:

Select the arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand it.

Step 3:

Look for IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. If it's listed, right-click it and select Update Driver, then select Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Step 4:

You’ll see a list of pre-installed drivers. Select High Definition Audio Device, and then select Next.

Step 5:

Restart PC

Let me know the results after performing the above.

Audio part of the video is not saving on Windows 10.

The issue might have occurred due to the following reasons:

• Software used to create the video.
• Step forgotten while creating the video.

• Which software are you using to create the video?
• Did you skip the step to add audio while creating the video?

You may have skipped the step to add the audio while creating the video. Check if you have followed the steps to add audio while creating the video on the computer.

10 just did an update & now audio & video doesn't work

We understand how you feel about the situation. We're sorry for the trouble.

1) Do you get any error message while video?

I suggest you to run the audio and video in built troubleshooter and check if it helps.

• 
  Type Troubleshooting and click
  Troubleshooting under Settings.
  
• 
  Now select Find and Fix Problems.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshoot Audio Playback.
  
• 
  Follow the prompted steps to troubleshoot this issue.
  

Also follow the same steps for Video troubleshooter.

I suggest you to rollback the driver and check the issue.

1) Press Windows Key + X and select Device manager

2) Select Driver and right click on
driver.

3) Select properties and click on Rollback Driver.
